JBL Ref 610 & iPod Touch Running OS 3.0
By B. Mciver
I have been using these headphones lately with my iPod touch running the new 3.0 software update, and I would have to say that I am for the most part happy with the results. The two pair up actually easy, I just leave the bluetooth on on the iPod and all I have to do is press power on the headphones and then play once to connect, and play once more to listen music. The range is fantastic, I plug my iPod into the computer at work when the battery is low and I may walk all over the mailroom floor with no interruptions. One thing I do receive pleasure from is the nice deep bass these provide. I am sort of a bass junky altho and others may find it a bit too much.
My complaints would have to be that 1.) I am not to fond of the shape and size of them. The headband sits behind the cups and it feels like they are always going to fall off your head, and they are beauteous big. 2.) Not all the functions work with the iPod Touch. I may use play and pause, as well as volume adjustment. However I may not skip songs. I believe this is an issue with the iPod software/hardware rather than the the headphones even though because when I used them on an iPod nano and classic with the dongle they worked great, and you could even navigate the menus and everything. 3.) Occasionally they will cut out and it sounds a bit like a CD skipping but not one thing so sever that I am disturb by it. 4.) They are hot. The leather(?) around the ear cups fits in truth well and keeps the sound of my rather noisy occupation out, but they keep the heat in just as well, and often I have to take them off because they plainly get too warm. Lastly I kind of wish they had a mic built in so I could pair them with my phone, but this is not genuinely a complaint more than it is just a wish.
I hope this review was helpful and I do commend these headphones to any person looking for a outstanding set of bluetooth headphones. Thank You.

JBL Bluetooth Headphones
By Lee Taylor
I was looking for a pair of bluetooth headphones so I could listen to music from my iMac and purchased a pair of these by JBL. Unfortunately my iMac’s bluetooth module did not have a big sufficient bandwidth to support both my bluetooth keyboard, mouse and the headphones so the sound would skip and become distorted and to make matters worse my mouse stopped functioning. I in truth read that this may occur in another review but thought I would try them anyway.
I returned the headphones and spoke with Apple when it comes to this queer problem. They said they would look into it even even though they had not had this complaint before. My guess was not a heap of persons were using all 3 bluetooth appliances at one time. I could have purchased a cordless headphone and that’s what I was planning on when a month or so latter Apple provided an update for the bluetooth module which solved the problem. One reason why I love Apple.
I went online to buy these headphones again and could not find them any longer at sears or any other marketer so settled on a pair by Sony. The quality and sound was so bad that I returned them and found a pair of the JBLs at Amazon. I can’t tell you how outstanding these carry out and sound. Cordless and bluetooth headphones surely won’t have the sound quality of corded headphones but the JBL’s sound in truth actually good.
When I received the JBLs in the mail it was like reconnecting with an old friend. They paired effortlessly with my Mac and the sound is deafening and clear, they are rather comfortable and I may walk all over my apt without losing the signal. It was rather an ordeal but in the end Apple fixed the problem and the JBL headphones were an magnificent choice.

poor construction
By Anthony
The sound on these using the cord isn’t as good as the Sennheiser HD280s or 1st-edition Bose QuietComforts that I’ve owned, but then it isn’t marketed to be. Bluetooth is this model’s retail point, and it doesn’t disappoint (though I’ve never tried any other Bluetooth headset). The sound will cut out as the reception drops, even when the receiver is attached to an iPod on your arm. The batteries on an iPod nano 5th-gen won’t last more than 2-3 hours with these attached. And there’s a lot of sound leakage. But the gains of wireless listening outweigh these drawbacks.
The construction is just too flimsy, though. the leatherette lining around one earpiece came loose a week after purchase, and the extending share of the headband cracked two months later when I was extending an earpiece. This is with occasional use in a home office setting, held in a case when not in use. My Boses and Sennheisers lasted a couple years each when worn all the time, dangling around the neck, tossed in backpacks, traveled with, etc.
