Have A Cigar

Throughout history, there have been assorted persons who have helped make cigars what they are today. From the rollers in Havana to Christopher Columbus, from Charlie Chaplin to George Burns, these people have all earned the right to smile smugly, puffing away and savoring the flavor of an industry they helped propel. But, these are surely not the only persons who have given the cigar a lift, lighting a match underneath it is very culture. There are various others who have likewise done more for cigars than most persons do for their own mother. One of these persons is Cigar Dave.

Cigar Dave is the host and creator of a nationally syndicated radio show called Smoke This. As distinctive as a fingerprint, this show is strictly devoted to cigars and the life style surrounding them. Cigar Dave introductory begun Smoke This in July of 1995 with a one hour stint on a radio station in Florida. Instantly getting a hit, Smoke This expanded to two hours and was in national selling a short five months later.

Named David Zeplowitz at birth, Cigar Dave, was born in Buffalo, New York and attended Syracuse University. He now courageously leads a group of cigar lieutenants into battle on the airways; for this reason, he is known by assorted nicknames including “The General,” “The King of Coronas,” “The Connoisseur-in-Chief,” and “The Professor of Puff.” His show provides cigar lovers with a potpourri of selective information as he discusses lifestyle, drinking, and smoking all in a manner marked by pleasant irreverence and vivacity.

Playing off the themes of George Orwell’s Thought Police and Big Brother from the novel 1984, Cigar Dave uses the Pleasure Police and Big Pleasure to represent the politicians and law enforcers who aim to eliminate the pursuit of personal luxuries as well as the employers and corporations who distinguish versus those who smoke and drink legally. But, Cigar Dave isn’t just in regards to making a political statement; he is also with regards to plain old fashioned fun. His show features a cigar draft, a draft that parodies the drafts of national sports organizations, as well as on-air tastings of respective alcohols, an acitivty that aims to help loves of spirits find a cigar to accompany their bestloved drink.

Not rather as good as I had hoped for

I’m a HUGE fan of Foo Fighters but this song is not included on their album for a reason. It’s just not rather up to the standards as the rest of their music.

Foo Fighters cover Pink Floyd’s Have A Cigar

Originally purchased (running time 3:58) in 1999 with the Learn to Fly single CD as a b-side with Iron and Stone. As with all covers….given the full Foo treatment, EXCELLENT. Understand this will be available as a download bonus for preordering the Foo Fighters’ Deluxe CD/DVD Greatest Hits in approximately one week by way of an email. Believe this is NOT the second cover of the same song done later. Guitarist Brian May added a guitar track to Foo Fighters’ second cover of Pink Floyd’s “Have a Cigar”, which appeared on the soundtrack to the movie Mission: Impossible II (track #6). Yet to listen or locate this version for comparison to the 1999 version #1.
