P90x is a great training program. I don’t think you even need to go to the gym if you can keep up with the program
The program was designed quite well and its nutrition guide is excellent
Just remember the body needs a good day out of the week to recover, overtraining is even worse than not training at all

i too use p90x. i mostly use it for strength training purposes, i skip the cardio, yoga and stretch. what i do is work a different part of the body each day to give my other muscles time to rest and when i dont strength train i do cardio. so on the days ur not using p90x go to the gym and do cardio or vice versa. p90 is pretty intense so you definitely dont want go to the gym right after that. my routine is mon- back and biceps, tues -legs, back (forget the name), wed- shoulders and arms, thurs-cardio , fri- shoulders, triceps (forget name), sat-back and biceps- sun- rest. my routine changes every week to prevent from getting bored. i mix it up. good luck
