3Surprisingly Mediocre
By IlPrimitivo
I didn’t want to review this card by anecdote alone so I employed some testing software and equated this amazon 16GB Class 4 card to others I had handy and here are the results:

Amazon.com SDHC 16GB Class 4
AmazonBasics 16GB Class 4 SD Flash Memory Card
Warning: Only 500 of 15140 MByte tested.
Test finished without errors.
Writing speed: 6.44 MByte/s
Reading speed: 12.5 MByte/s
H2testw v1.4

HP Branded SDHC 16GB Class 4
HP 16 GB Class 4 SDHC Flash Memory Card Q6305A-EF
Warning: Only 500 of 15185 MByte tested.
Test finished without errors.
Writing speed: 13.1 MByte/s
Reading speed: 17.5 MByte/s
H2testw v1.4

RiData SDHC 4GB Class 2
(No longer available in Class 2 category)
Warning: Only 500 of 3805 MByte tested.
Test finished without errors.
Writing speed: 4.00 MByte/s
Reading speed: 11.7 MByte/s
H2testw v1.4

As you may see, the Amazon card is in regards to 50% slower as the HP card in write speed and 30% slower in reading yet the cost of the Amazon card is 25% higher. Even equated to the old RiData SDHC 4GB Class 2 card the Amazon card is only 30% more immediate in writing and marginally rapidly and without delay in reading speed. Why is that?

The Amazon card may be adequate for it’s class and full retail price point but when equated to the contest there are better selections to be made.

Amazon will need to demand a higher quality product from it is suppliers if it wants to compete in the market with it is own branded product.

5Great for taking tons of photos and videos.
By J.F.
I received this item as a gift since I love taking pictures and HD video. All of that may in truth eat up space quickly, so I was glad I got a SDHC card.

I’ve applied a good deal of other amazon basic items like HDMI cables and other electrical cords, and they’ve all served me well, so I did not worry regarding a amazon branded SDHC card. For all I know, they’re in all probability made on the same assemblage line as a huge brand name card like SanDisk or PNY.

Write speeds, they’re quick. My old camera applied to make me wait 2-3 seconds after taking a photo, and waiting for it to write on my old old SanDisk 2GB SD card. Now after using this, instantly, I may shoot more photos and videos without necessitating to wait for it to write to the card.

Read speeds are pretty quick, all my pictures and videos showed up within seconds. My old Sandisk would make me sit there for a minute or two while it read each effigy and produced preview icons for them in windows.

I highly commend it to any individual who’s into photography or just likes to shoot tons of videos/photos. I tend to copy everything and save it on my computer when the card starts to get full, but if you’re the type of person who saves it all on SD cards for a long time, you might opt to get a 8 or 16GB card instead.

5Class 10 makes a difference
By ostawookiee
One of the mutual complaints with digital picture taking is speed of taking successive pictures and speed of introductory access time. In my wife’s Powershot, she was using a 2GB base class card and considered it way too slow. We upgraded to this class 10 card and it is unquestionably a noticeable difference. The official speed ratings are linear in that class 10 is 10x the base speed, so for example, a class 2 card reads/writes at 2MB/s and a class 10 reads/writes at 10MB/s. So if you are using an old class 2 or 4 card with a new camera, it’s going to take a comparatively long time to store a photo – with a 10-14 megapixel camera (depending on what compression level you use) a photo file might be 2-6MB in size; that could be various seconds to store on an old card or beneath a second with a class 10.
