Keeps going and going

I do not recognise why the basi reviewer gave this lighter only 1 star without telling us why, but we have 2 of them and I am ordering 2 more.

This lighter has the most dependable quartz ignitor that I have ever applied and I have tried many. We refill them over and over and they keep working perfectly. Except for the occasional refilling, which is a snap, NO maintenance required,

For candles, this lighter is perfect!

We love ours!

My husband purchased one of these as an momentum buy – clearance bin at a local housewares store. We’ve had it for 2 years now, and haven’t had any problems. He’s refilled it a few times – we use it frequently. It’s perfective for the huge jar candles that are hard to light with a regular lighter once they burn down more than half way, but we use this to light any type of candle. We purchased one for my mom last year, she loves it, and I’m planning on buying one for a co-worker this Christmas because she loves the big jar candles too!

Zippo Quality Standards in China…

…that is what the package says: “Manufactured to Zippo Quality Standards in China”. Well, apparently the standards in China are dissimilar to what I in the first place thought the famous “Zippo quality” was. The lighter did not work out of the box, even with the flame-setting to max. Finally, after number of tried ignittions, it lit up – it works now, say, 1-2 times out of 10 tried ignitions. I wanted to return the item, contacted the seller, it took a couple days till they responded – primary they said: “the lighters comes not filled” (which was not true, the ligher was filled, one may distinctly see that, even the box label reads: “Danger: exceedingly flamable contents underneath pressure”); then they said: “the lighters at times come filled with air”(?!) and i was asked to “bleed” the ligther, buy butan and undertake to re-fill… After this “instructions”, giving careful consideration to the low price, I did not bother to waste my time and talk to them anymore, just gave up. I will have to say, it is a pretty ligher though… but if you actually want to use it, think twice before you order it… I won’t buy it again.
