Boat Marine Solar Panel Construction

In this article you will read regarding the best way to generate electricity when you are at sea with your boat. I’m talking when it comes to marine solar panels, which is getting more and more beautiful among boat owners.

The marine solar panels will keep your batteries charged even if you are hundreds of miles from the nearest electrical hookup.

Before you begin to look for a marine solar scheme you will have to know that there are three elements to the marine solar system.

Is the solar panel which gives rise to the electricity when it’s exposed to sunlight.

Is the charge controller which monitors the charge to the batteries. It’s main occupation is to make sure that the batteries doesn’t overcharge.

Is the batteries which stores the energy that has been generated by the solar panel. The batteries has to be a particular “deep cycle” battery which may withstand the neverending recharge pressure.

Is an optional piece and it’s called the inverter. You may attach an inverter to your scheme if you would like to have alternating current (AC) rather of direct current (DC).

Now comes the time for planning on how huge the scheme is going to be. First you ought to determine on what you want to power with the solar panels. Do you want to power pumps on board or do you want to power a VCR, laptop, coffee maker, or perchance all of these. Planning is very necessary and you shouldn’t skip this.

When you have thought a bit on which type of scheme you would like to have, then it’s time to plan for a spot where to place it. A lot of people place their solar panels on radar arches and Bimini tops. Some people also choose to mount their solar system on deck. Be sure that the spot you choose get the most amount of sunlight and isin’t have obstacles blocking the sun’s path.

Marine solar panels are a outstanding way of getting free electricity on board your boat, and they don’t have to be overly expensive. Make sure that you basi plan how huge or little scheme you would like to have, then find a spot where to put it and then go out and order your system.

These panels are awesome! I have two of them to charge a battery which powers a fish finder and stereo on my bass boat. They work flawlessly and I never have to worry in regards to manual charging. They are rugged (virtually indestructible), beautiful in appearance, easy to install, and a great value for your dollar.
