I’d agree that Savickas probably has the best pressing power, but a number of Americans have (had) excellent pressing power too- Poundstone, Pfister, and most certainly Kazmaier, to name a few.
In the last 2-3 years, Poundstone has become one of the very few real threats to Savickas.

Derek Poundstone is the KING! damn! Not only he does more reps, but he does it faster!

@asianbuffalo Big Z… The man with the best pure brutal strength.. Nobody can take that away from him! :)

Magnus is not the guy sitting down but the man running around facing the athlete as they attempt the Dumbell…

@Krindell12, while Derek got the most reps, I noticed big Z was the only one managed to barely use his legs to press the dumbbells. That’s evidenced in the App. wheel, showing big Z with the highest pressing power. No one can press that 459 lb wheel as easily and for as many reps as him. Derek has trained to use his legs very efficiently to help drive the db. overhead for the most reps.

i think arnold needs to buy a new dumbbell next year around 250-270 haha derek is a maniac :) )

@aram34 yea him being short is an advantage but he is also lightweight and still he won 2009 arnordl strongman

Derek actually trains with an almost identical dumbbell specifically for this event. I am under the impression the other athletes don’t have a similar implement to train with.

    Erica

now he does this more and better than anyone else..is it because he is shorter than others?

  11. Shelby says:

    Leigh

i love that when they drop the dumbell the ground shakes

  12. Tommie says:

    Liliana

Yeah I’m sure I wouldn’t like either. Derek’s pickings are amazing. Strict curls from the floor, no leverage or anything, and super fast.

lol one of the judges did not want to be crushed by Misha throwing the circus dumbbell on him
