5You’ll Have a Ball With It!

There are two reasons to get one of these. The primary is if you want to beef up your hand and arms. The second? To have fun!

First reason one. If you’re looking for a way to beef up your arm and hand, the powerball will aid you with this. Specifically, you have to hold on to it, so it works your gripping muscles of the hand. It likewise works the wrist muscles, because you have to rotate your wrist to keep the thing going. Lastly, your biceps will get a workout as well, because your biceps muscle helps turn your palm up (supination), which is one of the motions involved in keeping the gyro spinning.

3A little good, a little bad

The reality is that, for most of us, it is going to fall someplace in between. I purchased one of these a week ago from a local sports shop, thinking that I could fetch it into my office or with me when I travel, and use it while I read over papers and reports. Any chance I may get to multi-task… After a week of use…

Pros: I may without apparent effort see how this would provide a decent forearm workout. When I use it for 4-5 minutes in one arm I may genuinely feel those muscles have in truth been worked. Consequently, I would say that it works more or less as advertised, meaning that it does what it says it will do (strengthen your forearms, hands, wrists, fingers, etc.)

Cons: Despite numerous of the promotional material, it is not the easiest thing in the world to get started. I tried the “handstrike” methods to no avail. 4It’s not junk–you just don’t recognise how to do it

I purchased mine today. I played with it and read the instructions and just couldn’t get it going. Then I got frustrated and shook it genuinely hard, and off it went. You have to use the string (or your hand) to get the thing in the middle spinning. Then, keeping it like a baseball, twist your hand left and right as if you’re using a screwdriver REALLY FAST. In seconds you’ll observe the gyro going and you may make it go more immediate or slow it down by not twisting. Hopefully it won’t make my tennis elbow worse rather of better, which is why I purchased it.
