 Streamlight Quality

At work, I use a SL-20X, altered with a SL-35X bulb. For those of you who are unfamiliar; yes, this does work. The SL-20 & SL-20X come with bulbs that throw 30,000 candle power. The SL-35X bulb throws 40,000 candle power. For the intermediate person, this does not matter. However, for anybody in public safety (Police, Sheriff, Marshall, Constable, Fire, EMS), increasing your flashlight’s power by 30% makes a world of divergence when you’re chasing a suspect in the dark of night.
The SL-20XP LED is perfective for when I’m not at work. Lighter weight makes it scarcely noticeable on my tool belt or in a pocket. It’s not as bright when I don’t need it to be. I found that my each day use SL-20X was closely blinding when I was in creep spaces and attics. The LED option is nice because LED lights are white, as opposed to the yellow halogen. I also like the fact that the plastic body does not attract electricity, because more than once I’ve seen “oops” when the metal flashlight body touches something live and sparks flew. I now keep a SL-20XP LED and a PolyStinger LED in my tool box for home and automati repair work.
