easy to use

inexpensive. works great. Product description does say, “mouth operated” so you know you have to phyically blow into it, however, it is very loud.

Frighteningly loud
By Michael Sawyer
When I purchased my sailboat, there was one of these in the “box of junk” which came with the boat. For a heap of time, I didn’t in truth know what it was, until I thought to blow into the hole on the side, and very almost deafened myself in the process.
It does have a bit of a duck-call feel to the sound, but I use it now all the time rather than a canned-air horn. Not problem using it; I in a literal sense just blow in the side, and it sounds loudly, effortlessly as piercing as a standard canned air horn. The one I have is surely easy to use; I figured it by accident out not even knowing what it actually was.
Highly recommended. I know the air may won’t leak down, since it doesn’t have one, and it’s more than earsplitting sufficient for nearly any use.

I’d Drown First
By dogmother
Before purchasing this horn I read the reviews carefully. Apparently there’s a learning curve in using this horn. I thought, well okay I this would be a great buy as it was an air horn that did not use air canisters, etc., and would hence be better for the environment. I received the air horn and in spite of reading instructions here and elsewhere on the ‘net on how to use it I have come to the conclusion that I could never use this as a safety horn. I mean really- in an emergency will you be capable to purse your lips like you’re playing a flute (as one person suggested) to get the horn to blow? I don’t think so. I wound up ditching this thing and purchased a regular air horn. A much better idea.
